Hi all,
I’m working on animations and I’m facing some problems with the motion blur.
I need less than a second to acheive the frame without MB when, then if I want to activate the motion blur, the same frame needs almost 3min to render… I understand that blur needs more ressources to render but is that normal it needs 200x more time to acheive?
I’m using GPU with 4090 card.
How do you handle motion blur on your side if not directly in KS?
Thanks.
Not sure about 200x longer, but yeah, motion blur in KeyShot is done the more realistic way which leads to really slow render times. I’ve added simple motion blur in post. You can do this in most editing programs. I personally use DaVinci Resolve for this. However, if you have complex movement where the object isn’t moving in a single direction, then a linear motion blur in post might not work too well.
Maybe helpful in future projects, if you use DaVinci Resolve you can also do Vector Motion blur which tracks the actual direction of items. It adds a lot to the render time but works pretty well: (13) The ULTIMATE Guide to Motion Blur in Davinci Resolve - FREE or Paid - YouTube
Thanks Will and Oscar,
I’m not used to work with DaVinci, but how the result looks nicer and easier than After Effect, I’ll try to spend some time to handle it.
Thanks.
